Tanzania Africa Tour - October 2011

Photographers Only Wildlife Tour:
Tanzania, Africa!

October 16 - 25, 2011

Excited already!!??  I don`t blame you!  My life long dream was
to have a fantastic partner in life, then a photo safari to Africa.
Now, both those dreams have come true.  Daisy is a wonderful
wife, a great mother, and a fantastic woman.
Dream number one complete!

Dream number 2 has always been Africa.  For the last 6 years, I have
been practising for this photo opportunity.  Over a half million
images in the last 6 years... getting my skills ready! So, in February
this year, we made it happen.... with the support of my 5 guests,
and a fantastic partner in Africa, we finished the first 10
day photography tour to Tanzania.

My friend and guest on our last tour in February, David Sparks
sent me a few of his superb images... check them out: click here!!

For most, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity!  So why not join an
adventure with the best guides, and locations for awesome
wildlife in Africa? Bring your best gear, tons of memory!,
batteries, and be ready for 15-20 gig a day shoot!

I do have a .pdf  file with more detailed descriptions, and
also, all the websites of the following lodges and
locations, and more images! Please email me with a
request for more information!

October 18th, 2011 - Day 3

Tarangire National Park & Maramboi Luxury Camp
We leave Karama Lodge, and travel to Tarangire and enter for game
driving and exploration This awesome wildlife park is
located less than two hours drive south-west of Arusha and
is often the ‘forgotten’ park. But during the dry season from
July—November, Tarangi becomes alive even more with
herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for
underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra,
buffalo and various antelope crowd the shrinking lagoons. It's
the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti
ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators.

Maramboi Luxury Camp is a unique opportunity to experience
and explore the Tarangire and Manyara Eco system.
20 tents spacious tents built on ample wooden decks.
They all with en suite facilities and private veranda with 24
hours 220V electric lighting. The sunsets over Lake Manyara
are breath-taking.  I have been in these tents, they are about the
size of a standard hotel room in North America

experience!  then an overnight stay at Losirwa Camp which is a small property
overlooking Lake Manyara National Park. The camp consists of 20 canvas
tents under thatched roofs, while set up on permanent wooden structures.

October 21st, 2011 - Day 6

Ngorongoro Conservation Area
& Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
We are up early and on our way to the Ngorongoro Crater. Ngorongoro
is collapsed volcano - an incredible natural amphitheatre, 25 km
across and teeming with all of the African big game. Early
morning descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and
game viewing in what has been described as the
eighth wonder of the world.

During the late afternoon, we head up the crater rim to Ngorongoro
Sopa Lodge which  is located on the rim of the eastern
side of the Ngorongoro Crater itself. With rooms spread
along each side of a central dining/reception area, the
views across into the vast caldera below are breathtaking.
This lodge is much more than nice!!  Be ready for a swim!

 October 22nd, 2011 - Day 7

Serengeti National Park
& Nasikia Luxury Mobile Camp
Early morning breakfast at the Sopa Lodge, then we head for the Serengeti.
This awesome park covers an area of 14,763 sq km and lies between
the shores of Lake Victoria in the west, Lake Eyasiin the south, the
Great Rift Valle yin the east and the Maasai Mara to the north. The pinnacle
of the Serengeti immortality is the wildebeest migration. It is beyond
description when the Serengeti plains witness flying hooves and dust as
hundreds of thousands of gnus and zebra, race against the
skyline in their annual migration that covers over 800km.

The Nasikia of the Great Wildebeest Migration.
As the vast herds follow the rains
and fresh grasses in a clockwise direction through the Serengeti, our
camp mimic that pattern of movement. Fully en suited with
luxurious facilities, it is the ultimate location for exploration of
the wonders of the Serengeti. By remaining a mobile camp, we
are able to offer the jewel in the crown for African wildlife and is
one of the highlights of East Africa Safaris!
